Description of the job

Airbus (Nantes) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

During this internship, you will study the possibilities for cost reduction in the manufacture of components and small tools used to assemble our products.

This internship will start on 2nd January 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Based on a Cost Pareto, you will:

·  Perform a value analysis,
·  Study the dimensional chain and define if the required tolerances are appropriate,
·  Validate the appropriateness of materials and treatments required with respect to the needs,
·  Redesign the tools to reduce the manufacturing costs,
·  Prototype the new tools, perform tests and qualify the tools,
·  Integrate these new tools in the Airbus standards.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, completing a Master's degree or in the 5th year of university, specialising in Industrial engineering, Mechanical engineering or Quality engineering.

You ideally have an initial experience.

You have skills in the following areas:

·  General mechanics,
·  Manufacturing process (composite and metal parts),
·  CAD,
·  Partner and subcontractor management,
·  Management of calls for tender,
·  Maintenance and tooling fundamentals,
·  Tooling technologies (Jig and Tools),
·  Application of tooling technologies in the production processes,
·  Industrial engineering fundamentals,
·  Product lifecycle management,
·  Ergonomic design of industrial means,
·  English.

You are a strong team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: intermediate level,
French: fluent.
