Description of the job

Airbus Helicopters (Marignane) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

The Helicopter Performance (ETGAP) department is responsible for helicopter performances within the framework of the following activities: first draft, development follow-up, flight tests analysis, offers, marketing, series support, applications and ground stations, etc.

The aim of this internship is to analyse the parameters recorded in flight during customer operations in order to determine in which way the helicopters should be used in terms of:

·  Mission (transport of passenger to oil platforms, transport of VIPs, search and rescue, etc.),
·  Infrastructure (open area, punctual heliport, platform, etc.),
·  Flight conditions (altitude, temperature),
·  Weight at take-off and at landing,
·  climb speed, approach speed,
·  Cruise speed.

This internship will start on 3rd April 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

·  Familiarising yourself with performance calculation,
·  Implementing an in-flight recording database,
·  Implementing functions enabling the exploitation of the database in terms of performance,
·  Synthesising the method and the results in a report.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, university or equivalent (5-year degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics or Aerodynamics.

You ideally have initial experience in this field.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: intermediate level,
French: advanced level.
