Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space Satellites (Elancourt) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.
In the context of their projects, the simulation teams use a software library developed under JAVA and based on SWING for the graphic components. In order to prepare for the future, this software layer needs to be renovated using present day technologies such as in particular JAVA FX.

This internship will start on 2nd January 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Among others, your tasks will be as follows:

·  To analyse the existent and propose a plan of gradual evolutions,
·  To implement MMI prototypes which could cover replacement of Swing by Java FX (prerequisite for switching to touch technology), a reconstruction of the mapping view management system etc.
·  To propose a graphic charter in order to modernise the current library MMIs.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, completing a Master's degree or in 5th year at university, specialising in IT.

You have knowledge in:

·  Systems engineering standards,
·  Modelling systems, and virtual technology,
·  Operational evaluation,
·  Sub-systems/Equipment/ module development,
·  Object based programming language: UML and JAVA SWING, JAVA FX,
·  ECLIPSE, MAVEN, SVN environments.

Ideally, you have initial work experience.

National Security Clearance certification would be a plus.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: Intermediate level,
French: Fluent.
