Description of the job

A vacancy for an Internet of Things Specialist has arisen within Airbus to be based on the Toulouse site in France. The successful applicant will join System Engineering.

Systems Engineering mission is to design, develop, integrate and ensure continued airworthiness of the systems which contribute to the operations of the aircraft.

In order to develop the fields of opportunities that digitalization can bring to the air transportation industry, the Internet of Things Specialist will be responsible for developing digitalization opportunities within the area of A/C embedded systems.

You will belong to a transverse organization with Systems Engineering. As projects are launched, you might be detached in the specific systems design team to allow disseminating your knowledge and in parallel enabling you to acquire systems engineering experience.

Tasks & accountabilities

You will be responsible first to identify the new opportunities that digitalization can bring to the A/C embedded systems such as:

·  Smart sensors
·  Connected maintenance operators, pilots, crew members
·  Connected passengers
·  Systems Health Monitoring
·  Data Management
·  Data Process

With the support of Airbus Engineering Community, you will be responsible to value these opportunities across all fields that connect to systems engineering, such as manufacturing, troubleshooting, maintenance, Airlines operations.

You will participate to the development of these new opportunities bringing your expertise in Internet of Things areas to the Systems Design Teams.

You will be responsible to drive the development of the physical layers and protocol layers in strong relationship with the Shared Resources department in Systems Engineering.

Required skills

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies:

·  Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
·  Experience in development dealing with Internet of Things application.
·  Ability to influence and convince others teams and domains
·  Ability to train and inform people
·  Ability to create trustful working Relationships
·  Good communication skills
·  Out of the box thinking
·  A negotiation level of English is required
