Description of the job

A vacancy for a Instrumentation Engineer for Flight Test Installation has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse.

You will join Specific Instrumentation department within Test instrumentation Component Department.

Within the flight test domain, the 'Test Instrumentation Components' Department specifies designs, develops, verifies and supports all instrumentation for laboratory and flight test installations for all aircraft programs.

You will join a team of 15 persons. You will be in charge of development and in service support of video and trajectory systems used for flight tests. You will be deeply involved in innovation and research projects looking for latest technology to be applied for the future.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Drive projects and developments of new instrumentations with internal and external suppliers.
·  Integrate and validate new tests means
·  Ensure a high level of reliability and availability of the complete set of flight test means under his/her responsibility.
·  Ensure technology survey
·  Drive the innovation by implementing for instance new technologies from external market (Geolocalisation, GNSS and IMU, computer vision, machine learning, datafusion, hyperspectral, IoT, Wireless, Harvesting, connectivity, BigData and smart objects...)
·  Manage interfaces with many internal and external actors: Design office, architects, test specialists, flight test engineers, experts, teams from other Airbus Group Business Units, competitors, Worldwide suppliers, start up, research laboratories, universities, etc.

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to 5 years degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.
·  Experience in System development & integration
·  Digital electronics skills.
·  Interest in technologies such as geolocalisation, GNSS, IMU, Computer vision, IoT, wireless, Slam, 5G, RF
·  Knowledge in OS System, experience in programming and scripting languages (C+, matlab, python, raspberry…)
·  Experience in Suppliers and project management.
·  Ability and interest for team work
·  Good communications and relational skills
·  Open mindedness and positive attitude
·  Autonomy, adaptability to integrate innovative and emerging technologies in flight tests context
·  Language Skills: advanced level of English and advanced level of French would be a plus
