Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an experienced Hardware and Roll out Engineer to join our Hardware Management team located in Bezons, Suburb of Paris.

You will report to the Head of Hardware Management and have as main interfaces the Projects managers, Software integrators, Procurement team, Quality team and the Maintenance team.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to join large scale projects and to follow the accomplishment from design to up and running system on site.
STYRIS® is an AIRBUS product line for collection, processing, consolidation, enrichment, distribution and display of data deriving from a wide range of maritime sensors such as radars, automatic identification system, radio direction finder, cameras, weather stations and sonars. STYRIS® is based on a modular system architecture allowing integration and user friendly and ergonomic HMI to provide operators with the platform to monitor and interact with critical maritime situations, and provide the means to quickly communicate to all relevant authorities.

Airbus Defence and Space is providing for more than 20 years integrated maritime safety and security solutions to Port authorities, Coast Guards, Navies and also commercial administration all around the world. Over 250 Systems are in service in over 50 countries; 20 are currently under development. 85% of our business is international.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Lead the factory phase :
·  Hardware architecture design;
·  Factory integration platform design;
·  Participate and monitor the delivery of drawings on time, on quality, on cost;
·  Perform/monitor the quality of hardware integration such as cabinets and equipment mounting/cabling;
·  Lead the site phase :
·  Perform preliminary and site survey visits on customers sites
·  Lead and/or perform the installation phase (with subcontractors and/or internal team)
·  Monitor and ensure the quality of installation in customer premises
·  Technical documentation delivery:
·  Site survey/installation/ Intervention reports
·  Installation manuals / Scope of work for sub-contractors and internal teams
·  Installation drawings (Electrical / Mechanicals)
·  Ensure the quality and update of technical documentation on projects lifetime.
·  Technical support on various projects:
·  Site intervention /installation / Upgrade

This role will involve extensive travel for business (estimated to 40% in France & Worldwide) and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

Education:

·  Licence degree / Bachelor +3 in electrical/mechanical engineering and/or radiofrequency/telecom or a comparable field of study.

Key Competencies:

·  Electrician and work at height experience.
·  Strong knowledge in general electrical / mechanical / radio frequency systems.
·  Electrical state of the art knowledge.
·  Cabling state of the art knowledge.
·  Electrical / Mechanicals drawings.
·  Knowledge in Microsoft Office Pack (Visio included).
·  Organized and autonomous.
·  Capability to learn fast.
·  Team player and cooperative.
·  Rigorous, loyal and curious.

Additional appreciated competencies :

·  3D Modelling tools (Solidworks, Sketchup)
·  Good knowledge of Linux environment
·  Maritime sensors knowledge (Radar, Radio, Weather)
