A vacancy for a Future Solutions Product Manager (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Friedrichshafen or Paris. The successful applicant will join “TCGT - Future Solutions”.

Tasks & accountabilities

Future Solutions is a new organization within Security Solutions with the main task to provide leadership for development of innovative security solutions through the application of latest digital technology and attractive business models for the security market. The team defines and develops the overall business strategy, owns and manages R&D to create MVP, develops tight relationship to Pilot Customers, and maintains close ties to innovation centers and incubators.
Your role within the Future Solutions team is to establish value-propositions specific to the Critical Infrastructure and Airport Security market segment, to define the Product/Solution Strategy including Vision and Targets, to build-up and consolidate a sustainable and successful roadmap over the OP, to maintain close relationship to our customers within the product/ service framework. This extends from the assessment of existing solutions with a view to increasing the customer's value proposition to developing enhancing solutions for this fast growing market and thus enriching the portfolio.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Manage the entire product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
·  Create and maintain the associated business case over the OP. Accept accountability for R&D as derived from agreed business case, and ensure ROI in cooperation with Sales, Projects, Engineering and Sourcing
·  Build and manage channels to market through Sales and Marketing to achieve market penetration
·  Meet our customers and develop relationships to understand their needs in relation to the product in order to feed the product road map
·  Specify new features, innovative products and services
·  Develop and implement a go-to-market plan, work with Marketing, Business Intelligence & Pricing teams
·  Lead on commercial arrangements for product family including licensing, pricing policy and service level agreements
·  Participate in the strategy implementation to grow into the security market segments Critical Infrastructure and Airport Security by defining and maintaining the Product Roadmap of Security Solutions
·  Analyse competitive offers and develop a product benchmark
·  Improve user experience, usability of features and quality of service
·  Be the internal customer and leverage MVP development
·  Engage Engineering to establish a dedicated team covering product development, manufacture, training and service/product support
·  Assume the Product Management responsibility within Maturity Gates and chair portfolio-related Engineering Reviews
·  Liaise closely with the Product Managers of other CIS Portfolio organizations to ensure our Portfolio is coherent, robust, deliverable and, where necessary, make maximum use of our own products
·  Champion the product – provide training and familiarisation to the Sales Teams

This role will involve frequent business travels in Europe and worldwide, and as such you should be able to travel accordingly.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

·  Educated to degree level in Product management or a related discipline
·  Experience of Product Management/ Marketing/ Business Development
·  Creative and open minded for new technologies
·  High interest in airport environment and critical infrastructure security
·  Product Management expertise and knowledge on fincancial metrics and measures
·  Understanding of the Security market, Airport market would be a plus
·  Good communications and organisational skills
·  Interest in continuous improvement
·  Fluent in English, French or German language skills would be a plus
