Description of the job

A vacancy for an Engineer specialising in Structural Stress and Engine Attachment Focal Point (m/f) has just been opened at Airbus Toulouse (St Eloi site). You will join the Engine Attachment department.

You will join the Propulsion team dedicated to engine support structures for all programs and you will be responsible for it.

Management of different stress activities: analysis of static, fatigue and damage tolerance.
Share a multi-program, multi-skill perimeter with other team members.
These activities could be related to turboprop or turbojet engines with a strategic change in manufacturing or purchasing policy. 16 main design configurations are involved, divided into 6 programs (including A400M, A350, SA NEO & LR NEO) with 7 manufacturers considering a new way of working with a major reinsourcing of the activity.

Profil recherché

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include :

·  Manage the re-insourcing of the activity with new ways of working within Airbus and subcontractors.
·  Improvement of aircraft : certification of weight variants and derived products, justification of modifications, life extension, updating of maintenance documents (e.g. SRM, CMM).
·  Provide daily support for air conditioning in production or service: analysis of concessions, response to daily requests from airlines, justification for repairs.
·  Manage major in-service issues, including reporting to airworthiness authorities,
·  Definition and follow-up of tests to support the above activities (e.g. fatigue tests for life extension)
·  Ensure the technical management of subcontractors and provide support to the manufacturer (for Airbus engine mounts),
·  Verification of the deliverables of these partners and realization of complementary studies,

Technical project management.

·  Act as a focal point for many entities (inside or outside Airbus) for engine integration purposes.
·  Develop your technical skills and knowledge of engine support structures in order to obtain a delegation of relevant DOS signatures in the medium term.

Some business trips are to be expected and, as a result, you must be willing to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a 5 year degree level (or equivalent) in Structural Analysis or a related discipline.
·  A first experience in project management
·  Good knowledge in static analysis and metal structure
·  Good knowledge of Patran/ Nastran, Abaqus software
·  Good communication skills, ability to convince and to federate.

Negotiation level in English
