Description of the job

A vacancy for a Big Data Project Manager (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse. The successful applicant will join the BI & Big Data Analytics Centre of Competence (CoC) team.

As a Big Data Project Manager, you will be leading IS Analytics and Big Data projects.
You will be responsible for the resources, costs and benefits of projects to ensure that Business and IS capabilities will be achieved within agreed time, cost and quality.
You will define, propose and roll-out new Big Data Airbus Method and Standards, contribute to ICT stakeholders education and change management, and be a key contributor to the new CoC governance model.

This job involves some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Tasks & accountabilities

As a Big Data Project Manager, you will have the following main responsibilities:

1) Big Data Expertise

·  Contributing to the Analytics BI & Big Data strategy in line with ICT governance, Enterprise Architecture and Customer vision,
·  Defining and structuring Big Data activities and project,
·  Supporting Big Data platform lifecycle definition, process, Method and tooling,
·  Reducing the costs, the lead-time of applications development and ensuring the achievements of the value creation targets,
·  Proposing and contributing to new CoC organisation and way of working, supporting the development of skills and knowledge in the CoC,
·  Building and maintaining relations between IS and third party providers (sub-contractors).

2) Business & Customer Support

·  Contributing to facilitate the changes (anticipation, organisation and execution) that enable the business domains to fulfil the strategy of ensuring that Airbus has common, effective and integrated systems and processes,
·  Anticipating business needs, designing and providing world class solutions fulfilling those needs and expectations in the most efficient and cost effective way liaising together with IS Strategy, IT Services and various business communities,
·  Developing the business cases to identify key improvement opportunities and assess ROI,
·  Mapping current processes, designing future state by integrating leading and common practices, setting process goals (KPIs) to harmonise, simplify and automate activities,
·  Proposing implementation of standard solutions to be in line with Airbus IS Strategy and to help migration from current applications to a consistent IS architecture,
·  Providing expertise in IS solutions,
·  Anticipating, directing and managing the emerging technologies relevant for the Bi & Big Data CoC,
·  Ensuring the expected benefits are performed, measured and tracked post implementations.

3) Project Management

·  Managing project implementation, supporting the business process,
·  Leading project implementation, applying development within budget and planning,
·  Delivering packaged implementation or new applications development by using new technologies in time, cost and schedule to support business requirements,
·  Contributing to reduce the costs, the lead-time of applications development and ensuring the achievements of the value creation targets,
·  Ensuring integration in the new organisation, guaranteeing the development of skills and knowledge in the CoC,
·  Building and maintaining relations between IS and third party providers (sub-contractors).

Required skills

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

·  Master's degree (or equivalent) in IT or related field,
·  Knowledge of the Big data, Digital , Open Source technologies: Hadoop ecosystem (H-Base, Hive, etc.), Spark, Spotfire, Neo4J, DIGDASH, or others,
·  Knowledge of dedicated development languages: Python, R, Java or others,
·  Knowledge of Agile and/or Design Thinking project methodologies,
·  Experience in data science, data integration and data exploration environment (Example: Talent),
·  Negotiation level of English,
·  Negotiation level of French,
·  Communication skills with the ability to communicate cross-functionally at different management levels,
·  Change management oriented with an agile mind-set,
·  Eager to learn,
·  Delivery oriented with the capacity to design and build Big Data solutions,
·  Assertiveness with the ability to present ideas while challenging existing ways of working.
