Description of the job

An Apprenticeship for Big data and Digitalization project management Engineer on Program A330 (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in its site of Saint Martin.

This apprenticeship will start on September 2017 (date subject to flexibility) and will last 1 year.

In the frame of A330 Program, you will join the Project Management Business Partner (PM BP) community to support Project Management activities. The PM Business Partner team is, in particular, in charge of supporting the program by providing accurate and relevant project status, allowing timely decision and anticipating risks.

Digitalization is part of Airbus transformation and is considered as a key enabler for more efficient program management and improved decision based on data analysis.

Tasks & accountabilities

You will support the A330 Digital focal point for Project Management topics in order to increase digital maturity, propose and develop new applications supporting project management.

Your main accountabilities will be the following:

·  You will first get knowledge of digitalisation activities already running within Airbus and A330 program,
·  You will identify the opportunities where increased digitalisation could bring either efficiency by reducing report time or new analysis capability for better decision. This step will require interviews of various program stakeholder to map the digitalisation needs,
·  Once opportunities are identified and prioritised, you will have to understand the associated business processes (engineering, production, supply chain, quality…) to understand the key information required to monitor and control the activity,
·  Finally, you will implement business intelligence tools, allowing data visualisation, exploration and eventually analytic technics to address identified opportunities. Agile approach is recommended for this step in order to deliver customer with intermediate functionalities and to ensure quick convergence toward customer needs. Depending of data sources, you will have to liaise with ICT (Information System specialist) to get data access and/or to link data sources into Airbus Data Lake.

The scope of the study will certainly address in particular serial/industrial operation in plants or in Final Assembly Line, but it can as well, address any other area where Project Management Business Partner are deployed (development, Flight test, Certification, Support & services) depending of the opportunities identified.

You may need to travel to various Airbus sites in Europe but no more than 2 days each 2 or 3 weeks. Therefore, you must be willing to move accordingly.

Required skills

You are enrolled in a Generalist Engineer School (bac+4) or equivalent with competencies in Project Management, Big Data and Analytics, and you want to integrate your last year of engineering studies (bac+5) or equivalent.

You shall have knowledge and interest in programming (at least with one programming language as C++, Python, Visual Basic…), in managing database but also strong interest of business operation as Engineering processes, Production, Supply Chain in order to understand customer requirements and implement appropriate solutions.

In addition, you are recognised for your autonomy, your adaptability and your taste for learning and discovering. Your are able to listen, understand and respond in a constructive and synthetic manner and to take initiatives.

An advanced level of English and French are required for this position.
