Description of the job

An apprenticeship for a Simulation and Modelling Tool Development Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse (Saint-Martin).

You will join the Flight Physics Capability department in charge of developing business methods and tools for all the functions of the department. In conjunction with the aircraft performance department, your main mission will consists in supporting the deployment of a new simulation tool. You will be in charge of coordinating and identifying the needs of various functions, defining the feasibility of the envisioned solutions and deploying them.
You will also promote this new tool to stakeholders and you provide assistance to users in this change.

This apprenticeship will start in September 2017 (date subject to some flexibility) and is for a duration of 3 years.

Tasks & accountabilities

In order to support the development of the strategy of the department, your main activities will include:

·  Taking part in the maintenance and support of performance calculation tools
·  Performing the validation of the successive versions of the new tool
·  Performing prototyping using Python
·  Defining and performing tests
·  Identifying the necessary adjustments and implementing them

This role will involve some occasional travel for business mainly in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a 2-year degree level (or equivalent) in Aeronautics or a related field, you are preparing a diploma in an engineering school
·  Strong interest in the development of software tools
·  Knowledge of Python or Simulink
·  Knowledge of C or PATRAN would be a plus
·  Functional skills: Communication skills, ability to work in a multi-functional team, and the ability to adapt
·  French: advanced level
·  English: advanced level
