Description of the job
Within the Airbus Helicopters 'Engineering' division and 'Airframe and Vehicle Integration' department you will join the 'Stress, Loads and Crash' service and will work in the France team as Airframe Stress Engineer. Among the main tasks are the development of airframe components and equipment for the Airbus Helicopters fleet, the demonstration of compliance for certification as well as definition and support for flight and ground testing.
The responsibilities will include:
· Doing and overseeing stress activities within Airbus Helicopters and with suppliers according to technical, economic and schedule requirements over the whole product life cycle
· Stress check and approval of drawing files, technical publications, manufacturing instructions, material qualification documentation
· Demonstration of compliance with airworthiness and performance requirements including the negotiation of the respective activities with certification authorities until acceptance and approval
· Maintenance and development of methods and tools related to stress analysis
You will be based in Marignane.

Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks will be as follows:
· Definition of substantiation method (analysis and/or test) based on the valid certification requirements
· Stress and loads analysis for structures in metal and composite materials
· Stress check during development of parts and components to optimize them with respect to strength, weight and cost for airframe, landing gear, engine installation, fuel and oil cooling system, standard and optional equipment
· Creation, checking and release of strength and fatigue substantiation reports
· Definition and interpretation of tests at coupon, sub-component and component level
· Support to design department, manufacturing and customer service
· Preparation and checking of compliance record documentation within the airworthiness database
Profil recherché
Required skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
· Engineering degree specializing in mechanics
· Experience in stress analysis
· Experience with sizing of parts
· Ability to deal with several studies and to manage non-planned tasks
· Knowledge about metallic and composite materials
· Knowledge in the following software: Hypermesh, Nastran, Patran, Samcef
· Team spirit, and ability to step back and question your own work
· English: advanced
· French: advanced
· German: would be a plus
