Description of the job

One position for an Aircraft performance capability engineer - Exported-to-Airlines Tools and Services (m/f) is opened inToulouse.
You will join the Engineering Flight Physics Capability department.

In Engineering Flight Physics Capability, we develop a set of tools mandatory for aircraft delivery to airlines. Low speed and high speed aircraft performance tools allow aircraft performance assessments during the design phase done by Airbus Engineering, but also Airlines flight operations preparation, in-service incidents analysis, aircraft performance assessments for Marketing. The low speed performance tool is certified by EASA and used as the Electronic Aircraft Flight Manual.

In addition to the daily support and tools delivery to internal users and Airlines, AIRBUS ambition is to set-up a modular Service Business Model that offers the technical expertise to optimize the airline's performance by analysing operational data with a MSN (aircraft) -oriented approach.

Tasks & accountabilities

The jobholder main tasks and missions will be :

In this context, your mission will be to support the development of new generation of aircraft performance marketable services exported to Airlines in interface with NAVBLUE and Customers Services.
You will integrate an Engineering skilled team in charge of aircraft performance tools exported to Airlines, and used by the Airbus aircraft performance community. You will be in contact with the key actors of NAVBLUE, Customers Services and Airbus Engineering in order to capture their requirements and translate them in advanced capabilities.
You will also take an active role in the transformation of our ways of working through AGILE and SAFE approach.

Your role:
In strong interaction by your deliverables to Customers Services, you will be responsible for delivering the right capabilities to our stakeholders, by always ensuring the best incremental value to the users as per the agile principles.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Growing in learning and understanding Airlines providers processes and marketable services
·  Capturing, understanding, challenging and prioritizing Airlines and internal Airbus end-users' requirements
·  Translating these expectations in a form of user stories into a proper agile backlog
·  Providing support to end-users inside and outside Airbus
·  Collaborating effectively with highly motivated, experienced and skilled developers within the extended transnational and multi-cultural Airbus environment

You will also make a direct contribution to the development of future tools frameworks (web services/AWS Cloud):

·  our existing and future tool frameworks
·  new kind of services for Airlines available for each MSN thanks to the sharing of among of in service data (Big Data)

Required skills

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies:

¤ Educated degree Bac+5 (or equivalent) in Engineering - Aeronautical

¤ Experience in Customer Services or Airlines flight operations

¤ Knowledge or at least appetence for software development (Fortran, C, Python)
¤ Knowledge of AGILE software development methodology (ideally Scrum)
¤ Knowledge of AWS desirable

¤ Excellent team working experience with ability to co-ordinate, motivate and support other colleagues
¤ Excellent communication skills to effectively interact within local and transnational teams, with suppliers and stakeholders
¤ Enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity and a 'can do' attitude
¤ Aptitude for problem-solving and innovation

¤ Advanced level in English and French
