Description of the job

With the new challenges in terms of efficiency, quality and safety, Control Modeling. Simulation & Tools Department is reinforcing its competence in modelling, simulation and associated Tools.

Control Modeling. Simulation & Tools team is a multi-competence team in charge of supporting the whole Control Modeling. Simul & Tools domain on modelling, simulations and Tools.

The applicant will have to capture the needs, follow the development, sometimes develop himself and deploy the solutions. The solutions can be models or Tools or frameworks.

The applicant will interact with all the subdomain of Control Modeling. Simul & Tools: actuation, hydraulic, high lift, computers, flight control laws and handling qualities
Tasks & accountabilities

Main tasks and accountabilities of the Job Holder will include:

The jobholder is required to:

·  Understanding and supporting the internal end-customer by providing quick and reactive solution.
·  Define and follow the development plan of the solutions
·  Manage the subcontracting or the partnership
·  Develop the solution himself if required
·  Ensuring the implementation of the methods and tools harmonized within the domain
·  Disseminate the new methods or tools
·  Communicate with the other domain implicated in modelling & tools

Other dimensions relevant to the position: All Programs (development & serial) 

The main activities will be:

·  Main challenge: work in a critical technical environment in contact with specialists for understanding their needs and proposing efficient and adapted solutions
·  Defining and supporting the framework for system integration modelling
·  Ensure the robustness and the sustainability of the framework
·  Communication and training on the framework
·  Produce actuation models and associated framework for actuation designer
·  Produce actuation models capable of being integrated on all AIRBUS simulation platforms including training simulator
·  Ensure the correct validation and integration of the produced models

Outputs of the position:

The jobholder shall deliver the main following deliverables:

·  Tools/Models specification and associated development plan
·  Models/Tools code and associated documentation
·  Technical notes
·  Integration and validation test results
·  User supports

Required skills

The job holder will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and competencies:

·  Educated to a 5-year degree level (or equivalent) specialising in engineering,
·  Good knowledge of modelling and simulation.
·  Basic knowledge on physical design, flight mechanics and avionics systems.
·  The mission of the position is to support and propose efficient and adapted solutions to the designers especially on physical system modelling.
·  Negotiation level of English and French.
·  Communication skills.
