A vacancy for a Substantiation & Material Specialist (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Interiors Services.

In the frame of AIRBUS Interiors Services (AIS), the Design Office performs developments linked to the conversion of the aircraft for Airlines application. Part of DO, the “Substantiation & Material” Engineering Department is in charge of justifying all modifications developed by AIS, within the following domains: structure, cabin, systems installation. In a context of increasing demand for cabin developments (upgrades, equipment,…), AIS is looking for a cabin stress engineer to reinforce this department.
Description of the job
Reporting to the DO substantiation & material Manager, the job holder contributes to the development of AIS by:
· Managing, issuing and validating substantiation reports according to time, cost and quality requirements, especially for ATA25 modifications, by proposing recovery plan, if needed.
· Ensuring the safety of AIS STC (supplemental type certification), especially with respect to ATA25 and 53 chapters and answering questions from Airworthiness Authorities in a transparent and adequate way, under the lead of AIS Certification department

Tasks & accountabilities
The job holder will be accountable for:
· Organizing tasks for qualification and substantiation of AIS modifications on 5 main fields:
•Airlines
•Equipment BFE
•Connectivity (STC)
•Cabin Upgrades (STC)
•Super First Class (STC)
•Service to VIP
· Writing and / or approving the relevant reports and/or documents under the lead of the Substantiation & Material Manager, in accordance with Project Management, coordinating the technical feasibility in his domain, and providing expertise and assistance
· Organizing vendors reviews with the project management to guarantee the technical compliance from the development to specification in order to achieve on-time items delivery
· Ensuring continuous reporting to Substantiation & Material Manager
As additional activities, you also will have to:
· Ensure the role of the referent for Material qualification & substantiation and (progressively) become a specialist of ATA25 flammability issues
· Act as a Compliance Verification Engineer for ATA chapters 25 (& 53) and participate to trainings for this function
· Provide expertise and technical assistance during Working Parties (litiges and concessions)
· Ensure management of engineering subcontracting (on site and « forfait »)
· Organize, plan and deliver all substantiation reports (ATA25, ATA53, ATA92,...)
· Establish testing plan and support both qualification and certification tests
· Provide technical expertise to design reviews
· Provide experience support for R & D activities and on specific items.
· Coordinate project with multiple actors:
•Equipment providers/ vendors
•Airbus DO (aerodynamics, loads, cabin…)
•Airbus Customer support
•Airworthiness Authorities
•Other AIS department
· Manage development of exotic solutions for cabin upgrading according to specific Customers / Artistic Designers requests
· Manage and control tasks performed internally and by subcontractors & vendors related to the program inputs (quality, budgets, planning)
Required skills
As the successful candidate you are able to demonstrate the following skills and competences:
· Degree in Aeronautical engineering
· Technical knowledges:
• Airbus aircraft general knowledge
• Know How and Experience in Aircraft structure stress activities
• Static
• Fatigue
• Knowledge in cabin design & stress activities
• Knowledge of stress tools: Nastran, Patran, Isami (Express), Safe
• Knowledge of standard MS-Office applications,
• Knowledge of CAD Tools (CATIA...) and of AIRBUS configuration management software (AOLS, Taksy, gilda,...) is a”plus”
• Knowledge of Airlines working protocols is a plus
· Understanding of commercial environment and industrial processes,
· Good sense of teamwork with internal and external entities,
· Experienced in Suppliers relationship and coordination
· Good presentation skills
· Excellent practice of English and French (both written and spoken) is mandatory
