Description of the job

The Airbus Aerodynamics team is looking for an aerodynamic engineer to join the Powerplant Aerodynamic Design team in Toulouse.
This group is responsible for the aerodynamic design of the nacelle, pylon and associated air systems along with the aerodynamic integration for the Powerplant for all Airbus products.
Your role within the team will enable you to take part in the design of the nacelle, pylons, and air systems to support Programme developments as well as research activities.

Tasks & accountabilities

You will have the opportunity to see the entire design process:

·  CAD activities to generate aero shapes,
·  Multidisciplinary (structure, acoustics, cooling, anti-ice) constraint negotiations within Airbus and external to Airbus
·  CFD and associated post-processing to assess design and aero performances,
·  Wind Tunnel Testing, when required,
·  Flight Test preparation, follow-up and data analysis,
·  Regular communications to the Programmes and R&T stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who can be a team player, but also operate across organisational boundaries within both Programme and R&T projects, with the capability to address technical challenges and drive an innovative approach.
You will work by Aerodynamic Powerplant Design specialists and experts and will be involved in the transnational Aerodynamic organization.

Required skills

As the successful candidate you are able to demonstrate the following skills and competences:

·  Engineering Degree with a specialization in Aerodynamic is mandatory,
·  Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation is mandatory,
·  Experience in Powerplant and in Nacelle would be appreciated,
·  Strong autonomy,
·  Good communication skills and team spirit,
·  Advanced level in English is mandatory,
·  Advanced level in French would be highly appreciated,

This role has been graded Position I.
