Job description:

An internship in Advanced methods for resetting aircraft performance models (m/f) has arisen at Airbus at its St Martin du Touch site.

The aircraft performance domain is involved in the certification of AFM (Aircraft Flight Manual) models. The AFM is used by airlines to plan their operations. The certification of models is achieved by comparison with flight test data. Flight tests are extremely costly and in the context of innovative projects, the aircraft performance domain is in need of solutions in order to be able to reset the models with less flight testing.

The objective of this internship is to participate in the elaboration of such innovative methods.

The internship is scheduled to begin on 2nd February 2017, (date subject to some flexibility) and will last 6 months

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will be the following:

Your missions will be as follows:

·  To assimilate the state of the art concerning data analysis for model resetting.
·  To develop new methodologies in order to increase the overall efficiency of the process
·  To demonstrate the benefits that such new methodologies can provide through the analysis of concrete cases
·  To draft the documentation required for the clear understanding and operation of the developed methods

Required skills

Skills required:

·  You should currently be studying in an engineering school, specialising in aeronautics or similar (5-year degree)
·  Python and C++ programming languages
·  Intermediate level English and beginner level French as a minimum.
