Are you an experienced Senior Managers Regime Specialist looking for a new opportunity? Our client, one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, is seeking a talented individual like you to join their team. This is a contract position, with the contract set to end in March 2025.

Location: London/Hybrid

Salary: £450 per day via Umbrella Company

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that the required Senior Managers Regime documentation is up to date. You will also be responsible for maintaining and keeping current all corresponding processes related to the regime. This includes regulatory submissions, annual fitness and propriety assessments, managing Reasonable Steps, Job Descriptions, and more. Additionally, you will need to stay informed about any regulatory developments relating to the Senior Managers Regime and prepare reports as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Keeping the Bank's Management Responsibilities Map and all supporting Handbooks, Policies, and Procedures up to date.
Maintaining individual Statements of Responsibilities.
Managing all SMF documentation, including Job Descriptions, Reasonable Steps, Learning and Development Plans, Handover documents, and other necessary documentation.
Preparing regulatory filings for SMFs.
Creating briefing notes, presentations, and reports for senior management consideration.
Preparing MI, Board/Local Management Committee, and Executive Committee papers/reports related to SMR.
Developing and delivering training materials on the SMR.
Assisting with guidance, briefings, and training to SMFs, GMs, or other relevant teams.
Monitoring regulatory developments and proposing changes to systems and controls.
Undertaking recordkeeping obligations for SMCR.
Conducting ad hoc analysis, reporting, and monitoring as requested.
Supporting SMCR-related projects to enhance or develop processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven ability to manage workload, resolve routine problems, and prioritise tasks.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proactive and self-motivated approach.
Previous experience in Senior Managers and Certification Regime is desirable.
Knowledge of SMCR regulations and banking compliance and regulations is essential.
Higher Diploma, qualification, or Bachelor's degree preferred.
