Job Description

Scope of the position: Responsible for the upkeep of rooms and public spaces according to Fairmont Standards which includes regular follow-up of workorders and Planned Preventive maintenance of the rooms twice a year or as occupancy allows.

What you will be doing:

·  Maintenance work related to guest rooms, public areas and any other maintenance work related to the official maintenance of the property.
·  Follow the pre-planned preventive maintenance of all guest rooms.
·  Keep in constant communication (direct or on radio) with the engineering supervisor or the Chief Engineer (during the absence of the Supervisor) updating on any maintenance issues.
·  Pick-up work orders from the ‘to complete’ bin on the Supervisors table and set up these job tasks according to priority.
·  Regular upkeep of inventory of materials relating to plumbing, light bulb supplies/ballasts/switches.
·  Report any shortages of inventory to the Engineering Supervisor.
·  Occasional errands to suppliers to pick-up urgent spares for priority jobs that cannot wait.
·  Get together with the Shift Engineer to schedule time and date to ensure thorough cleaning of all back-of-the-house areas related to engineering .
·  Make sure that all tools and materials are kept back in their proper places once the job is complete.
·  Any defects or other issues regarding maintenance is reported to the Engineering Supervisor/Chief Engineer.
·  Report to the Chief Engineer/Engineering Supervisor, any issues regarding heating/cooling in guest rooms.
·  Support Shift engineers, where needed, with project works in public areas and guest rooms.
·  Other duties as assigned.

·  Must have basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, wallpaper work and rough carpentry
