Job description

Key tasks

The Night Auditor is responsible for welcoming and processing all late arrival guests to the hotel, which may involve some departures or reservations. He/she is also responsible for the comfort of all our guests especially throughout the night and provides continuity of service for Front Office over a period of 24 hours.

Common Duties:
• Welcome guests in the evening and during the night including check in/out
• Responsible for the payment of all bills during the night shifts.
• Responsible for the close of operations for the day at the appropriate time
• Ensure security for all guests and their property.
• Responsible for the hotel after the departure of all day managers.
• Always listening to the guests and answers their requests as quickly as possible.
• Apply the pricing policy and all associated procedures to optimise the occupancy rate, the average price and the hotel turnover.
• Establish good working relationships with the guests and visitors.
• Know the services offered by the hotel and inform the guests of these and encourage them to use the services during their stay.
• Check the reports of the Head Housekeeper and ensures that any discrepancies are notified to the relevant departments.
• Carry out operations concerning payments, tips, changing currency exchange and the management of the safe deposit facilities.
• Prepare a bill with the details provided by all the other outlets in the hotel.
• Check the remaining departures and make sure that the corresponding bills are ready and correct with the supporting documentation.
• Provide wake-up calls as requested by the guest.
• Forward messages received for the guest to them within the given timeframe established by the hotel management.
• Ensure t the telephone, e-mail and fax service and safe deposit services are available to all guests.
• Understands the technical installations in the hotel, the hotel security and alarm systems.
• Implement the night duty instructions and can call security services or duty manager at any time.
• Prepare an activity and incident reports every night and prepares a hand-over the next shift team.
• Prepare the reservations for early morning check-in rooms.
• Prepare lists of arrivals, departures, residents and VIPs.
• Check the petty cash float at the start and end of the shift.
• Complete a credit check on all guests when s/he arrives at the hotel.
• Prepare debtors files for the accounts department.
• Prepare statistical and accounting reports for the day for all management in the hotel.
