Job Description

Maintenance Person - Full Time
Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain Fairmont Waterfront’s facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for our guests. Join Fairmont Waterfront and take part in the sustainable travel revolution at our harbor-front, eco-conscious hotel, which is home to Vancouver's first green roof and a honey bee apiary!

What you will be doing:

·  Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
·  Health & Safety conscious, actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment including inspection of all areas of the property for safety issues and taking immediate corrective action
·  Service and repair duties of guestrooms, public areas, and heart of house
·  Minor equipment repairs, HVAC servicing and filter changes
·  Caulking washrooms, bathrooms and repair and replacement of bathroom fixtures, and minor plumbing
·  Daily swimming pool test and chemical balancing when assigned 
·  Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on property’s facilities and equipment
·  Assist guests regarding hotel equipment e.g. TV's as needed
·  Active participation in our environmental program and sustainable operations
·  Daily system checks when assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

·  Expert finishing skills required: painting, drywall, wood restoration/refinishing 
·  Experience in other areas of maintenance such as plumbing, tiling and carpentry
·  Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
·  Highly responsible and reliable, able to work safely with minimum supervision and be able to prioritize tasks
·  Excellent guest service skills with an eye for detail and mechanical aptitude needed
·  Team oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good command of the English language required
·  Class 4 ticket an asset

Visa Requirements:  Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.  The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
