Job description

Key tasks

The Banquet Supervisor will supervise the banquet operations ensuring that the hotel standards and procedures are fully known and followed.

• To give full cooperation to any colleague requiring assistance in a prompt, caring and helpful manner.
• To promote a helpful and professional image to the customer with full cooperation when requiring assistance, ensuring a prompt, caring and helpful attitude.
• To strive to anticipate the customer needs whenever possible to enhance quality service and in turn enhance customer satisfaction
• To assist the Banqueting Manager in maintaining regular and effective communication within the team. Also, attending departmental and hotel meetings when required.
• To assist in creating an environment which promotes associate moral and encourages associates to have pride in their section and their skills ensuring maximum efficiency.
• To address development needs identified from your achievement review with your manager and to maximize areas of strength.
• To have a complete knowledge of banquets menus, beverage lists, functions rooms, A/V equipment, special packages, etc…and to cater to the guests requirements.
• To have a complete knowledge of costing and pricing of the above.
• To update banquets management system with menus, beverage lists and additional information.
• To follow up details and arrangements for functions in liaison with the star meeting concierge or the wedding coordinator.
• To maintain the Banqueting Daily Log Book.
• To liaise with the banquet manager on daily basis with regards to day to day operations.
• To maintain a regular contact with in-house conference / group leaders to maximize delivery of service.
