The Release Management Specialist is a professional from a Software Engineering background that monitors deliverables from development to implementation, ensuring adherence to required standards, release delivery and integrity. This position requires at least 3 years of experience in development.

Soft Skills:
·  Advanced English skills: writing, reading, and oral.
·  Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, quality, schedule, budget, and resources.
·  Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations.
·  Manage relationships and coordinate work between teams and ensure timely feedback.
·  Develop and drive the release work plan to completion, addressing proscribed release requirements and, assure that the change process is followed appropriately.
·  Measure, monitor, and communicate the application release status to stakeholders and escalating risks and issues as needed.
·  Improve productivity by combining related problems, functional or technical requirements, and service requests to avoid duplicate processing and testing of affected configuration items
·  Establish the framework for all release deployment activities; develop a release schedule.
·  Confirm that the initial scope of the release, including determination of the release priority is clearly defined.
·  Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for the project's schedule, effort, and cost using established estimating models, best practices, and past experience.
·  Demonstrated analytical thinking and attention to detail (previous projects and experience).

Technical Skills:
·  Design, enhance and implement packaged software solutions.
·  Establish processes for preparing executables from the source code, merging of code, labeling of executables, etc.
·  Plan, design, script and execute functional tests that ensure all applications or systems meet functional and business requirements.
·  Apply skills and experience related to release management. Includes the up-front planning, scheduling and successful deployment of changes to clients' production/live environments in a controlled and systematic way that limits negative impacts to the environment and business operations.
·  Plan, design, script and execute technical tests such as operational readiness testing, security testing, compliance testing and usability testing that ensure the application or system meets non-functional requirements.
·  Object Oriented Programming (OOP) foundations: Encapsulation, Abstraction, Inheritance and Polymorphism.
·  JavaScript (OOP, AJAX, Frameworks, Browser Debugging Tools).
·  Web Development: RESTful, SOAP, basic HTML and CSS
·  Web Services engines: Apache CXF, Jersey, .NET WCF, etc.
·  Template engines: Apache FreeMarker, JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library (JSTL), Twig, etc.
·  Relational databases: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL.
·  Plus: Non-relational databases: MongoDB, Elastic Search, Cassandra.
·  Development life cycles: Iterative, Cascade, Prototype, Agile, XP, Spiral, etc.
