We are currently looking for a Software engineer to work on the Blockchain technology in our Emerging Technology group as part of our Accenture Liquid Studio in Utrecht. The Accenture Liquid Studio is a brand-new facility designed for rapid application development and prototyping of the newest technologies.

Working in the Emerging Technology (ET) group you will focus on technology research defining the concept, future architecture, methodology and infrastructure for technologies such Blockchain, Artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics etc. Your work will be a combination of building our in-house assets, projects and prototypes as well as developing software & products for some of the biggest and challenging companies in the Netherlands.

We are looking for several software engineers with the right mindset to work in this new start-up environment.

Job description

You will be working in a very innovative environment together with Accenture's best talent in our specialized Emerging Technology team, leveraging the newest tools and gadgets. Our highly-skilled engineers use rapid application development principles; lightweight and microservice-based architectures.

Your role:

You will apply as a Software engineer for our Blockchain team. In this role you will:

· Contribute to architecture, design, and implementation of a blockchain environment including but not limited to the consensus layer, distributed ledger, and smart contracts layer.
· Build rapid prototypes and work on fast paced projects.
· Take existing prototypes to production quality code to create new products and offerings.
· Collaborate effectively with other staff to solve complex problems.
· Assist with debugging and verification of defects in your own and others' work.
· Understand business concerns and contribute to brainstorming pragmatic options to address them
· Create together with your team state of the art products with software best practices, like TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Are you the perfect candidate?

Basic Qualifications:

·  Solid foundation in software programming
·  Eager and passionate about developing and delivering software
·  Background in distributed algorithms.
·  Experience with blockchain technologies.
·  Experience in implementing real distributed systems.
·  Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science (or related)
·  Always looking for a new technical challenge and solution
·  Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
·  Cloud passionate
·  Fluent in English and Dutch

Other Professional Skill Requirements and Qualifications:

·  Expirience with byzantine fault tolerant state machine replication (BFT-SMaRt library) or similar technologies is desired.
·  Experience in mainstream programming languages such as Java/C/C++.
·  Exposure to multiple programming languages is desired, as the ability to pick up and use the language that suits a body of work is expected. (ex. Python, Ruby, JavaScript, PHP, GO, SCALA)
·  Must be capable of researching alternatives and making architectural/design/business decisions independently.
·  Common CI & CD tools knowledge (Jenkins, Sonar, Nexus)
·  Git skills and basic bash skills (find, grep, cp, mv, less, top, etc.)
·  Knowledge of basic data formats (JSON, XML, CSV)
