Status: Full-Time/11 Month Developmental Assignment

Position Overview:

Provide training on the good laboratory practices associated with the execution of research and development bench studies to R&D Operators and Scientists.  Also, provide leadership on the planning, documentation and record keeping associated with this training.

Responsibilities:

Administer and continuously updates a comprehensive training program that focuses on safety and consistency of Quality for the APOC Labs.

Coordinate with R&D Technical Leads and/or Managers to schedule and execute all new hire training before trainees are assigned to execute R&D studies.

Develop and document training programs and expectations for processes for which they are responsible.

Engage other R&D trainers, administers all learning assessments to trainees as training progresses.

Mentor trainees and other R&D trainers in all aspects of safety, training, quality and compliance.

Maintain and continuously develop training tools, resources and techniques that enhance and improve the training process.

Administer learning assessments to trainees for initial new hire training.  Provide a status report to the R&D Technical Leads and/or Managers and other R&D trainers on designated shift.

Provide positive feedback, encouragement and redirection to team members as they learn new processes or workstations.

Monitor learning progress across all shifts and provides on-going gap analysis reporting to R&D Technical Leads and/or Managers.

Maintain current, updated knowledge and skill related to processes in area of responsibility.

Model appropriate quality, processing and safety skills while maintaining a positive attitude.

Notify R&D Technical Leads and/or Mangers when operator has successfully completed new hire training.

Responsible for establishing and reporting on applicable training metrics.

Engage stakeholders across all shifts and develops and documents best practices for processes and workstations.

Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures and guidelines.

Safeguard the environment and facilitate a safe and healthy workplace culture.

Other miscellaneous duties as may be required.

Required Education and Experience:

Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

Experience in a regulated environment is an asset.

Excellent English communication and presentation skills (written and spoken).

Laboratory training experience would be considered an asset

Two-year college diploma or equivalent work experience.
