JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices and peripheral stents.

Our location in Westford, MA , currently has an opportunity for a Senior Software Integration Engineer .   The fundamental function for this role will be software integration, enhancements and bug fixing for the back-end data processing pipeline of the OCT Intravascular imaging system.  The successful candidate will bring strong C++ and object-oriented programming experience to work in a variety of areas within application software for Abbott’s OCT Intravascular Imaging system.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

· 
Implement features and fix bugs within the OCT System’s data processing architecture using highly efficient and well-organized C++ code.

· 
Provide documentation, test plans and unit tests for all software changes.

· 
Work in a highly collaborative agile team environment.

· 
Develop and provide understanding of customer usage of intravascular imaging technologies to help our team design and build the best products possible.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

· 
Associates Degree (± 13 years) Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Or relevant software certification (e.g. Udacity Nanodegree).

· 
4 years of experience in software development (combination of programming-heavy coursework, school projects, freelance work and professional experience).

· 
Strong C/C++ and Object Oriented design skills.

· 
Demonstrated experience in software architecture within imaging or medical device applications.

· 
Experience creating thorough testing methodologies.

· 
Experience with source control and bug tracking tools.

· 
Excellent English communication skills, oral, reading and writing (should be comfortable reading scientific publications).

· 
Experience developing on the Microsoft Windows platform.

· 
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

Preferred

· 
6 years of commercial development experience or a graduate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

· 
Master’s degree highly preferred.

· 
Experience with Embedded medical device software development.

· 
Experience working with client/server architectures (REST, .NET)

· 
3D Graphics Programming experience a strong plus.

· 
Algorithm development experience for biomedical imaging applications.

· 
Experience with SIMD CPU and/or GPU programming.

· 
Experience with Machine Learning, AI or Deep Learning is a plus.

· 
Rapid algorithm exploration and prototyping in high-level language (such as MATLAB or Python).
