Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Function/ Primary Goals/ Objectives:
Creates and executes an annual Area scientific plan in
alignment with Area marketing and global scientific affairs
for designated AM products and/or a designated disease
area.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scientific Studies - Initiates and conducts investigator-initiated studies and/or research studies. Monitors study progress, analyzes
results. Recommends options for study design, study costs, and study agreement elements. Proposes new ideas related to designated AM products and/or disease
area.
Publications - Collects and elaborates results, and provides input to manuscripts/posters/presentations. Interprets results and conclusions. Authoring and co-authoring of manuscripts.
Monitoring of scientific publications - Monitors actively scientific literature and attends scientific events on key products. Selects publications that need awareness for sales organization.
Creation of educational packages for the sales organization. Escalates competitor data into marketing and recommends response actions.
Presentations - Gives scientific presentations at internal and external events such as national conferences on designated products and/or disease area. Presents to customer during customer visits.
Supports conduction of Satellite Symposia, Advisory Boards and user meetings.
Networking - Establishes and maintains relationships with Key Opinion Leaders. Sets up consultancies, and liaises activities of any kind between KOLs and AM. Works closely with all levels of Area and Global Scientific
Affairs to provide scientific support to the Area Commercial organization(s).
Budget - Assists in managing of scientific budget and is accountable for budget related to designated products.
Resolving product issues - Acts as liason between Area marketing and Quality/Regulatory and technical organizations when product issues arise. Visits customers and provides solutions.
Product life cycle - Coordinates launch and post-launch activities on AM products through coordination with Marketing representatives. Recommends expansion of clinical utility.
Education/Experience :
- University Diploma; Ing., Dipl.Ing. (FH); B.S. plus 6 years minimum related lab/industrial experience or M.S. with 4 years minimum relevant experience or Ph.D. in a life or physical science plus 2 years minimum relevant experience
Preferred skills:
- Over 5 years relevant experience in molecular diagnostics
- Previous management experience
- Experience in product development or support
- Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs
- Solid understanding of the underlying principles of molecular biology
- Strong problem solving techniques
- Strong communication skills in a scientific environment
- Scientific writing skills
