Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET)

Job description

Tasks:
This job is a hybrid role of software engineering (creating new software), with an opportunity that comes with test engineering. We're looking for a highly motivated SDET who can build things from scratch using next-generation test automation technologies and who recognizes the importance of both individual and group effort to deliver high quality enterprise class product. Some of these engagements include:
• Develop applications where performance, reliability and scalability are critical design goals;
• Test interactive and complex applications;
• Develop and enhance automated tests and frameworks;
• Write high quality, maintainable, and robust code;
• Solve problems at their root with understanding of the broader context;
• Prioritize automation and manual efforts;
• Write and execute test cases and test scenarios; support creation of the test plans and test strategies;
• Identify efficiency opportunities, propose innovations and means of implementing new technology/processes in the field of QA;
• Be a member of an agile team, focusing on a team goal.

Desired profile

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in engineering, computer science, or related technical;
• 2+ years in related field including technical experience in .NET programming, software testing and quality assurance management;
• Hands-on coding proficiency in C#;
• Test automation skills/tools;
• Experience in developing multi-tier web applications;
• Experience in integrating various components into coherent end-to-end systems;
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations (TFS knowhow is a plus);
• Experience with automated UI testing for Web applications is a plus;
• ISTQB certification is a plus;
• Linux knowhow is a plus;
• Knowledge in Cyber Security is a plus;
• Domain knowhow would be a plus:
- 61850 for substation automation,
- Modbus/OPC for microgrids.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English;
• Ability to build strong working relationship with managers and other functional and technical team members;
• Demonstrate ability to solve problems with strong analytical skills while working under pressure and without direct supervision.
