Thesis work in Control-Optimization and Analytics application

Job description

Tasks:
We are glad to be able to offer several challenging and exciting master thesis projects within the Control- Optimization and Analytics group at Corporate Research. We work with both long-term development projects and shorter assignments, and we have ABBs division Process Automation as our primary partner.

Energy efficiency, Model predictive control, online and offline optimization, cloud computing, planning and scheduling, fault detection and diagnostics are some of the research topics and development project we are dealing with.

Desired profile

Requirements:

We welcome master students with an interest and background in physics, control, signal processing and/or optimization. The students we are looking for have completed courses in his or her corresponding engineering field. We would like our thesis students to be motivated to solve real world problems by applying state-of-the-art methods. Strong people skills are required as the student may have to interact with stakeholders from various levels in the company and parts of the world.
