Tasks:
We are looking for an ABB Ability Technology Evangelist in Kraków, Poland. This is a key role in driving the adoption of ABB's Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) platform, which is one of our key business initiatives. As an Evangelist you will be representing ABB Ability platform technology by promoting, training, creating sample code snippits and implementing reference applications as well as spreading the word – and by doing so helping application developers use a new development environment. We are looking for an experienced, passionate and creative software generalist and a good networker with strong communication skills and high personal commitment. We expect you to share our vision and be able to effectively communicate this to others – mostly by examples and actions.

Your responsibilities:

• Supporting ABB business units in developing value-adding applications using the ABB Ability™ platform by developing:
- Information models to support our IoT strategy;
- Device interfaces for data collection with various standard and proprietary protocols;
- Calculations to refine data to information;
- Data analytics;
- UX design and visualizing data for users in interactive web and mobile user interfaces and reports;
- Systems integration.
• Creating training material and organizing training workshops for the application developers;
• Preparing documentation and other support material on the application development;
• Providing consulting and design services to implement the applications.

Desired profile

Requirements:

Ideally, you have:

• University degree in computer science, or in another suitable field;
• Good practical skills preferably in several of the following:
- C++, C, C#, JavaScript, HTML5;
- Data structures, algorithms, information modelling, and cyber security;
- UX design;
- Windows and Linux operating systems, and cloud platforms.
• Good communication and collaboration skills in a multi-cultural global environment;
• Several years (preferably over 3) experience in software development at work or as a personal hobby;
• Industrial work experience is not required, but is an advantage;
• Willingness to travel.
