Job Summary :

The person hired for the position will be part of the Graphics Market business unit.  The Graphics Market develops and supplies customers with a wide variety of thin, flexible films with adhesive for applications in the signage business.  These films can be applied to backlit signs, vehicles, trailers, boats, railcars, walls, floors and windows.  We are looking for someone who can embrace and appreciate the diversity of our customers and products.

 Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Finding solutions to customer problems, sometimes collaborating with other technical personnel.
·  Providing hands-on window film installation training for customer and distributor staff as an industry expert.
·  Developing and delivering sales tools to enable customers and 3M sales personnel to better demonstrate benefits of 3M window film products.
·  Supporting many CSD functions including laboratory development and product engineering, manufacturing technology and plant, quality control, marketing and sales.
·  Validating product performance at customer sites (field tests).
·  Assisting the product support teams which lead product improvements, manufacturing efficiencies and product maintenance.
·  Investigating customer issues and advise on causation and recommended solutions.
·  Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:  

·  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution
·  Minimum two (2) years of combined experience in a private, public, government or military environment in one or more of the following areas: application engineering, project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, product development, quality, and/or research laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Bachelor's degree or higher in related discipline (Engineering, Graphics Art, Chemistry, Mechanical, Physics, Electrical, etc.) from an accredited university
·  Hands-on ability along with mechanical/diagnostic skills
·  Ability to gather customer insight through listening, observing and asking questions
·  Strong personal computer skills
·  Familiarity with Window Film products and market (film application to windows) and materials testing
·  Superior intrapersonal skills – able to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization
·  Excellent presentation, training and communication skills both written and oral
·  Ability to work independently and in a team environment
·  Experience with statistical software
