Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Software Engineer will contribute to the development of UI enhancements, RESTful services, and automated tests and deployments for new 3M products and platforms within assigned projects utilizing appropriate methods, practices and concepts.

Teamwork and collaboration within highly adaptive cross functional teams are key elements to success in this position, as Agile methodologies are used to promote rapid and high quality software. 

Adherence and contributions to best practices, such as Software Development Lifecycle, unit and automated testing, and security are also key expectations of success.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Software design, coding, and debugging software applications
·  Conducts assigned technical tasks producing accurate, timely results
·  Work with other software engineers, product owners, quality engineers, and other cross-functional team members to design and build applications
·  Adhere to team design and coding procedures and standards
·  Participate in analysis, architecture, and code reviews
·  Document potential intellectual property
·  Communicate results of assigned technical tasks
·  Builds a working knowledge of key corporate initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

·  Possesses or in the last year of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
·  Minimum of one (1) year of experience with object oriented programming with languages such as Java, Python or C# (course work and Internship work considered)
·  Minimum of one (1) year of experience with web application development methodologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular, JQuery, Bootstrap, HTML5 (course work and Internship work considered)

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Knowledge of MySQL and relational database concepts
·  Familiarity of AWS, specifically CloudFormation and Lambda are a plus
·  Strong time management skills and the initiative to resolve problems by communicating promptly and driving project forward is required
·  Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in order to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of people, both individually and in groups is required
·  Must be a creative and original thinker
·  Must have the ability to work effectively with close supervision
·  The successful candidate will exhibit professionalism, initiative, sound judgment, dependability, and a strong work ethic

Location: Albany, NY  or Overland Park, KS

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation: Is not authorized.
