Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) is a global business of HSBC, providing retail banking and wealth management services to three customer segments: Personal Banking (mass segment), Premier Banking (affluent) and Private Banking, across 51 countries.

Digitalization is a key pillar of WPB’s strategy and a key enabler of its operating model. WPB has been investing >$1bn per annum in its digitalization priorities, primarily focused on introducing and enhancing capabilities in the mobile and internet banking channels.

The role of Business Architecture is to support the global Value Streams model; providing overarching principles and guidance to VS members, ensuring a coordinated approach to developing and implementing a cohesive business architecture infrastructure, building global capabilities that are re-usable, sustainable and that drive efficiency while meeting business outcomes and customer needs. ·  Ensuring timely decisions on architecture of capabilities developed by WPB value streams, in collaboration with WPB IT Architecture. While architecture decisions at the level of a value stream or a capability area (e.g., GPB & Wealth, Retail Banking) are expected to be taken within those areas, the focus of this team is on cross-value stream, WPB-level architecture decisions and on issues escalated for decision to the global WPB level
·  Defining clarity on high-impact components of the WPB business architecture that significantly affect direction of digitalization in key WPB markets and businesses (e.g., global vs. local capabilities, choice of patterns and approaches to mobile and web capabilities, etc.)
·  Putting in place and overseeing mechanisms to optimize reuse of capabilities across markets and avoid unnecessary product variation; identifying opportunities to further reuse the already existing digital assets
·  Supporting WPB value streams in definition of capabilities that are fit for purpose, in collaboration with WPB Technology stakeholders
·  Managing overarching change governance across business and technology for VS solution decisions e.g
·  Managing resolution of complex cross-VS solution design issues
·  Delivering on key HSBC Group-level business architecture priorities
·  Attending combined Technology and Business Architecture decision forums and following up with Architects / Business Owners for any items ‘escalated to executive level’
·  Supporting the coordination of the Business and IT Architecture forum, including the preparation of monthly agendas and preparation amongst participants
·  Maintaining WPB Business Services within the HSBC Group Service Catalogue, and owning the governance / change request process for updates
·  Run working groups to resolve issues and agree, implement and communicate process improvements to optimize reuse of capabilities across markets and avoid unnecessary product variation
·  Support adhoc Business Architecture queries, gathering business information to inform decisions
·  Managing (including capturing and socializing) the set of agreed business patterns for common business architecture problems across Value Streams
·  Deliver on key HSBC Group-level business architecture priorities
