The Opportunity:

·  The Data Movement Analyst is responsible for  facilitating the rollout and ongoing maintenance of DMOV control compliance across HSBC. This role will work closely with the Data Movement Lead to ensure appropriate documentation of flow of HSBC’s data and integrity is maintained.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities:  Key activities and decision-making areas           

This role will carry out some or all the following activities:

·  Support rollout, adoption and maintenance of data movement and data integrity control compliance across HSBC
·  Represent the DAO in all matters related to Data Movement and Integrity
·  Support Data Movement leadership, DAO, GB/GFs, and other stakeholders to faciliatate implementation of data movement and data integrity requirements
·  Support Data Movement and Data Integrity in governance of related standards, tools, best practices, and related techniques
·  Conduct training sessions as needed and implement and publish monthly reporting
·  Ensure evidence for data movement and integrity is documented in accordance with policy and standards

·  Standardized approach is socialized and training sessions held as needed
·  Stakeholders are well informed and have visibility into progress status and related risks/issues

·  Support communication of the status, value, and importance of data collection/management/modeling to executive members and external stakeholders
·  Interact and be a representative throughout the region at various levels of management on behalf of the DAO
·  Proactively share best practices and expectations across the Techn, Data and Business teams.

·  Ambiguity – the role requires understanding the technicalities involved in rolling out DMOV controls across the organization and their interlock with other data, IT and cyber controls
·  Ownership – the role requires the navigation of the structure and roles across HSBC’s Tech, Data and Business organization.
·  Flexibility and adaptability – constantly changing priorities and tasks that are potentially highly restricted in nature, unpredictable and wide-ranging, complex and time-sensitive requires the simultaneous handling of a broad range of issues
·  Stakeholder considerations – the role requires the highest quality, most succinct output that is suitable for senior executive management and external parties (including regulators) at all times, regardless of pressures
·  Sensitivity and trust – engendering a true sense of urgency, pace, community, and collaboration across indirectly managed areas across the DAO community
·  The diverse responsibility of the role and the number of jurisdictions with which the US operates requires the role holder to be highly efficient and able to deal with a high volume of both highly confidential and commercially sensitive information, with discretion
·  Operating, influencing, and communicating effectively with all stakeholders and other colleagues both inside and outside the various functions
·  Thinking and acting independently, often within tight timeframes, formulating sound advice or actions which have clear direction and are commercially and operationally acceptable

Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority)

·  The role holder needs to perform a proactive, collaborative to ensure effective compliance with data movement and integrity control requirements across HSBC’s Technology and Business estates.
·  HSBC is going through an unprecedented period of change in its move to a sustainable globally led and connected organization.  There is increasing external scrutiny and pressure on the Financial Services industry from governments, regulators, media, investors, and brokers.  The role holder needs to understand the impact of all these changes on Global DAO and support the lead accordingly
·  The role holder will be required to interact with many internal and external parties at the highest level of management and therefore needs an outstanding level of professionalism and gravitas, coupled with strong program management skills

Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)

·  Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
·  Fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators
·  The role holder will be responsible for ensuring they and the teams in the various functions adhere to HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of external audit points together with any issues raised by external auditors

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

·  Metadata management experience, including working knowledge of related tools (e.g. Collibra) preferred
·  Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts
·  Previous GB/GF systems knowledge to support stakeholder management
·  Necessity to make robust/tough decisions that may be contrary to others’ wishes and ability to prioritize competing demands
·  A good knowledge of the Group (or a similarly situated large global organization) and its strategy, internal policies, and procedures is preferable
·  Proven ability to manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholder relationships
·  Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and be change-oriented
·  Strong problem-solving skills
