Purpose
Within the Distribution Business Unit one of the major areas of strategic evolution lies with the expansion of the Amadeus footprint in the Business Intelligence arena with the development of the new offering of Travel Intelligence.
The role of the Data Science Engineer is to participate in the identification, implementation and growth of the Travel Intelligence solutions for Distribution customers.
The Data Science Engineer will have 2 main activities in the team: participating to TI product implementations (creation of data streams and customization on top of the product before delivery) and delivering BI consultancy missions for internal and external customers. Comfortable with the setup and customization of TI products as well as working as a quantitative researcher, the Data Science Engineer is willing to learn and bring change to an organization.
The Data Science Engineer explores and examines data from multiple disparate sources and sifts through all incoming data with the goal of discovering a previously hidden insight, which in turn can provide a competitive advantage or address a pressing business problem. The Data Science Engineer does not simply collect and report on data, but also looks at it from many angles, determines what it means, then recommends ways to apply the data. The Data Science Engineer is inquisitive: exploring, asking questions, doing 'what if' analyses, questioning existing assumptions and processes. Armed with data and analytical results, the Data Science Engineer then communicates informed conclusions and recommendations across an organization's leadership structure.
