Oracle/SCADA Database Administrator
- MaintenantDéveloppement informatique Perform CORE DBA tasks such as configure and install Oracle/SCADA database (>10TB) in complex (Single Instance, RAC and Data Guard) and large environment running 40 instances, to meet all functional, performance and quality objectives. Took the leading initiative to gather our client requirements and implemented the work process solutions, database backup and recovery solutions and database design and data integration with quality objectives in mission critical databases (10g/11g). Trouble-shoot the problems of Oracle database as per ITIL procedure. Installed and implemented RAC and Data Guard database. Enhanced database performance, tested and performed backup and recovery procedures on various disaster scenarios. Ensured technical and functional designs of the database and application programs meet business requirements.
Responsibility:
• Installed and configured of Oracle server (RAC/Data Guard/ASM/Grid Control/Data Pump/RMAN) on 11g on Solaris/Linux/Windows OS. Designed and implemented the new mission critical engineering application projects of IICATS and SCADA on Solaris/Linux OS on production, development and test servers running Oracle 10g/11g Database. Installed and configured Oracle Application Software, Oracle WebLogic Server, Forms and Reports. Prepared technical documentation.
• Upgraded Oracle 11g database from Oracle 9i/10g and implemented RMAN on Linux RHEL.
• Installed/Configured Oracle 12c on Test/Development Servers (Linux/Solaris). Refreshed database from Oracle 11g.
• Performed recovery of oracle database with various scenarios of disaster (11g/12c).
• Performed Database tuning and Operating System to improve performance of loads and improved performance by 35%. Optimised database for stability, speed and high availability.
• Performed SQL tuning by using Explain Plan, Tkprof, Trace facility, Statpack and using Automatic Performance Diagnostics Monitor tools through Enterprise Manager (10g/11g). Installed/Configured/Administered Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control (10g/11g). Applied interim patches to Oracle using Installer and Opatch utility.
• Installed and configured Linux packages using rpm.
• Migrated Oracle 11g database from Windows Server to Oracle 11g running Linux (RedHat) using RMAN. Migrated Oracle 11g from HP-UX to Oracle 11g running under AIX. Installed and configured Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c on Linux (RedHat/Solaris).
• Designed and developed database infrastructure and identified and resolved technical issues of database problems along with development team. Improved the process and business requirement for IICATS engineering applications by contributing viable solution.
• Innovated time-saving, robust engineering application on IICATS/SCADA/Oracle systems that automated functions, enabling new SCADA remote terminal units (SCADA RTU) alarms and alarm help file information to enable SOC operators to take necessary and timely actions which saved considerable amount of money saving from Environment Protection Authority.
• Developed. Maintained and implemented UNIX shell scripts, PL/SQL scripts and SQL scripts to carry out routine checks on databases. This includes performance analysis, checking whether all databases are running, listener is running, Unix error messages, disk space availability, segments with greater than 10 extents, segments nearing max extents, checking for errors in alert logs and trace files, etc. to avoid any unnecessary downtime.
