Contract Technical Writer
- Conception / Génie civil / Génie industriel I was part of a team updating key documents to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation. Within this team I reviewed existing documentation, did editorial updates of new documents created by Subject Matter Experts, and helped to define and introduce a new, ITIL-based, Change Management process.
In more detail:
Following a takeover by a US company, the client was advised to review their existing Change Management process to ensure it met SOX requirements. As part of this work I was asked to improve the existing documentation. I reviewed existing documentation and forms; adapted existing documentation to provide a more ITIL-based change management process; enhanced existing change-request forms; and attended Change Review meetings to get feedback on the new documentation and forms. The result was that the client could demonstrate to internal auditors that the revised process was SOX compliant, thereby avoiding the risk of fines for non-compliance, and that it formed the basis for moving to an ITIL-based process.
