- Conception / Génie civil / Génie industrielDuring my internship at Egis Rail, I worked on two railway projects that were different both in terms of responsibility and technical aspects of the missions. I was asked to accomplish different tasks that ranged from studies coordination and internal communication to project planning and cost optimization, passing by constraints and impact analysis. I was also assigned to produce both draft and final documents and control various documents produced throughout the study.
This internship was challenging both in terms of getting familiar with the railway technical environment and learning the basis of project and team coordination. The work I put in helped achieve an economy of 10% on both the project’s time and cost.
Research intern
- Conception / Génie civil / Génie industrielMy internship at CSTB was in preparation of my final year project in order to obtain my engineering diploma. The most notable aspect of my work was the autonomy it required as I was sometimes scrapping through articles and books on my own to find the answers to my questions. This internship required a lot of patience and dedication as I had to learn new skills necessary to accomplish my mission. I was assigned to do a bibliographic study which was followed by coding and testing of one particular solution that caught my eye. This helped me determine and test a possible improvement based on statistical analysis of data.
This internship helped me challenge myself on a complex problem and develop my analytical skills. The proposed improvement was validated by my superiors and led to the proposition of a PHD thesis regarding this subject
Team Leader
- Gestion de projet / ProduitThe Atlantic Team Challenge (around 50 students) was formed by different universities from Nantes area to participate in the Solar Decathlon Europe 2014 edition aiming to design a habitation unit with positive energy efficiency. For this project I was chosen to lead the department responsible of completing the technical design studies of the project. My day to day work revolved around managing the department I was leading (5 students), assigning tasks, planning the project, controlling various documents and reporting information to and from the leading board, which I was part of.
This experience was my first real one as a manager, it was highly challenging and helped me understand the requirements of managing a project and improve both my communication and management skills.
Water supply intern
- EnvironnementI was accepted for an internship at dar al handasah, Lebanon, to work on water supply and distribution projects. This internship required a lot of technical skills in terms of water supply design and simulation. I worked on two different projects throughout the interview, and was assigned to a team of five persons. The everyday tasks I was conducting ranged from defining the input data for the project such as water demand and topographic data. Then, based on multiple solutions testing, I had to propose the optimal solution.
During this internship, I also worked on improving the overall team performance, by proposing a solution that would increase the team efficiency, by developing a tool that transfers data from one software to the other efficiently. This proposed solution was then validated by my superiors.
