2013 - 2015 Conception / Génie civil / Génie industriel Manufacturing and Characterization of electrically and thermally conducting foams by an infiltration process
The aim of the thesis was to increase the thermal and electrical conductivity of the web material by developing a suitable infiltration process for commercially available ceramic foams with precursor compounds followed by the reduction of the precursor into corresponding metal.
▪ Analysed the material characteristics under Raman spectroscope and SEM (scanning electron microscope)
▪ Measured and analysed the improvement in the thermal parameters of ceramic foams using TPS (transient plane source) method; obtained an improvement of 33 % in thermal conductivity for the new ceramic foams.
▪ Measured electrical conductivity of the new foams and found their conductivity to be in the range of S/m.
