Job Summary:

The Sustaining Engineer is the primary interface between Customer Support and the Engineering and Manufacturing Teams.

Roles performed by this position include Test Engineering, Reliability Engineering, and Sustaining/Support Engineering. This encompasses design and support of test equipment, troubleshooting failures, and recommending alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and/or procedures.

The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for driving the Time To Resolution of all engineering related issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with Hardware and Software Engineers in defining and continuously improving Acceptance Test, Product Verification Test, Manufacturing Test, and Environmental Stress Screening philosophies and architectures

Design, Purchase and build equipment needed to support testing. This hardware may consist of cables, custom electronics, PC interface adapters, standard instrumentation, and custom test fixtures

Provide assistance to Production and Repair in performing product failure analysis and similar evaluations in order to determine how to improve product reliability

Provide engineering support on all priority issues identified by the program and customer support teams. This is based on engineering evaluation and customer satisfaction priority

Responsible for driving continuous improvement within all engineering realms. SW and HW quality and identifying the root cause and preventive actions on all Zii products

Preferred Qualifications and/or Education:

·
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field

·
0-6 years of experience working in a similar role

·
Aerospace background and understanding

·
Familiar with all aspects of engineering systems involving complex circuits, cables, power supplies, and mechanical components and operational understanding of Linux

·
Experience in designing equipment utilized in engineering and production test

·
Knowledge of manufacturing processes

·
Proven track record in meeting project goals and objectives

·
Ability to quickly learn and understand complex systems & concepts

Soft Skills:

·
Ability to adapt, plan and organize work priorities in a constantly changing environment

·
Strong written and verbal English technical communications skills

·
Must be proactive, meticulous, organized, and detail oriented

·
Ability to efficiently resolve problems
