Job Summary:

The Product Process Engineer applies technical expertise to the performance, production and repair of electronic and mechanical products and related components. This role’s primary concerns are quality improvement, First Pass Yield and Rolling Throughput Yield improvements, cost reduction, standardization, reliability, and product readiness for Production and Repair.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Apply design for manufacturability methodology to the engineering process

·
Serve as a technical contact with internal and external customers, Operations (Manufacturing, Supplier Management, Repairs), Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Support, Materials, and Suppliers

·
Operate as a Product Owner for multiple individual products to leadership and support from design, to production, to repair to end of life.

·
Implement quality performance, consistency improvements, and cost in products and process during their design phase

·
Prepare manufacturing/production plan for new designs, as well as for existing design

·
Comply with ISO 9001, AS9001, & FAA requirements

·
Develop technical expertise regarding electronics boards, electromechanical components and assemblies, with an emphasis on their fabrication

·
Troubleshoot electronic boards/assemblies and electromechanical components that fail functional tests. Identify root causes and document corrective actions to ensure the problem is contained, corrected and action is implemented to prevent recurrence

Advise Management on issues and provide recommended solution

·
Represent the company during onsite/offsite customer meetings and advise management of meeting outcome and any actions required

Preferred Qualifications and/or Education:

·
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field

·
0-6 years of experience working in a similar role

·
Prior experience in the manufacture of electronic and mechanical components, particularly for Aerospace application

·
Experience with utilizing and/or coordinating with domestic or overseas vendor services

·
CAD/CAM (Solidworks) experience

·
Knowledge of Lean and JIT concepts – (Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc)

·
Proficient with Lean and JIT concepts, and able to implement them to increase productivity and remove waste

·
Solid troubleshooting skills

·
DMIR qualified or positioned to be achieve DMIR status

Ability to efficiently resolve problems

Ability to accomplish multiple tasks

·
Strong written and verbal English communication/presentation skills

Must be proactive, meticulous, organized, and detail oriented
