Position Description

MISSIONS

The Verification Engineer/leader is a key engineering role in PE projects. As a contributor to project team, he/she is responsible to deliver software quality assured systems for production releases and an actor to provide function improvements and new technical solutions. He/she should define the required testing activity and take care of the feasibility of it with the existing test tools in all the Powertrain development sites (HIL simulators). If necessary, he should plan to upgrade these test tools in order to cover the whole verification plan. He is also an interface between software developers and application engineers.
Today, because of the strong requirements on software quality (SPICE Level3), the software verification activity needs to be consolidated and to evolve toward a more and more complete verification of the software. The verification engineer/leader is then a key actor in this work to reach that level through competitive intelligence monitoring and to deploy new verification solutions always more efficient.

You will integrate an international system functional verification team and follow Control Systems development processes.

As verification engineer you will be responsible to:
•Get from the system engineer the required specifications which need to be verified and give your feedback on the quality of these documents from a verification point of view.
•Discuss with configuration manager and software developers to define relevant test cases according to the verification plan.
•Define and write rigorous test descriptions, perform the tests on relevant test tools (HIL simulators, test bench, vehicles) and write the associated test reports.
•Define the required evolution of the test tools in order to be able to cover the whole verification plan.
•Be pro-active in the definition of more efficient verification solutions.
•Follow the predetermined work processes in order to comply with the standards (SPICE Level 3).

As verification leader you will be responsible to:
•Initiate, execute and conclude the Control Systems verification plan, which includes planning, follow up and control of all verification activities in the project. He/she secures the verification planning in order to provide verified system and components deliverables in accordance with project plan.
•Define test support and tools and secures their availability in accordance with verification plan
•Deliver the verification status within Control Systems area and for providing recommendation to project leader for Control Systems releases through reporting problems, risks and not fulfilled requirements to the project leader.
•Follow up of system & software verification activities analyzing associated Test Reports
•Follow up Application verification activities for transmission and hybrid
•Follow up Hardware verification activities analyzing Engineering Reports (ER) and Functional Verification Reports.
•Estimate and request from project leader the need of human and practical additional resources to perform project verification if necessary

PROFILE
•2-4 years' experience in the functional verification area.
•Engine, after treatment and hybrid control strategies knowledge are required.
•Ability to understand & manage physical phenomena.
•Strong Leadership.
•Structured and systematic rigorous approach.
•Excellent communication skill (written and verbal) in English.
•Engineer (functional verification) specialized in Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering.
•Experience in Serial communication protocol (CAN J1939).
•Tools knowledge: Canalyzer, ATI Vision, Labview, Test Stand, Dspace Control Desk.
•Open-minded and pro-active
•Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
