BAS Service Technician
General
Position Type: Full Time – Non-Exempt
Required Working Hours: 7am to 3pm Monday through Friday
Working Location: Homewood office or at regional customer sites
Reporting
This position reports to the BAS Service Manager.
This person must represent the company both internally and externally in a manner consistent with the values and culture of the organization.
Overview
This is a professional position responsible for the following:
· Works independently with power and hand tools for service of DDC controls. Attention to accuracy is required.
Responsibilities and Expectations
· Perform regularly scheduled Preventive Maintenance as assigned by BAS Service Department.
· Maintain, repair, & replace failed components for Service customers as assigned by BAS Service Department.
· Receives daily scheduling assignments from BAS Service Department.
· Troubleshoot problems with HVAC system control as assigned by BAS Service Department.
· Make corrections in field, if required, to ensure proper functionality and provide feedback to Engineering of problem identified.
· Responsible for employer provided vehicle and inventory of replacement parts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Requires a membership in good standing in IBEW Local 134 as a Maintenance Electrician.
· CDL Class C Drivers License
· Requires use of hand tools provided by employee.
· Requires thorough knowledge of DDC for HVAC applications.
· Requires thorough knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.
· Requires ability to perform the following;
· Troubleshoot control code
· Requires ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits
· Requires ability to read electrical control schematics
· Requires continued understanding of current related technologies
· Must be able to lift packages weighing ≤ 80 pounds
· Must be able to work from ladder to perform duties.
· Computer networking, BACnet/LON/Modbus experience is desirable.
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
· Must be able to work with limited supervision and direction.
· Must work well in a team environment and be willing to assume any unassigned responsibilities.
· Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Salary and Compensation Notes:
· This is an hourly position and requires hourly time tracking be documented and submitted weekly on a “time sheet”.
· Regional travel in company provided vehicle is required.
· After hours “On-call” is required for this position and is assigned by the Service Department. This assignment is based upon the number personnel available to share in the requirement. A pager will need to be carried.
· Requires willingness to perform overtime work to meet special project deadlines.
