Position Description

Casting, Forging & Fasteners' team (CFF) is a part of the Operation Powertrain Europe purchasing organization. The team is spread on two sites (Lyon and Göteborg) and is representing a purchase yearly spent of more than 5 billions SEK.

We are now looking for an operation buyer located in Göteborg (Sweden) or Lyon (France). The portfolio is connected to forging technology. It serves the Powertrain and Vehicle plants for the EMEA region. You will drive your own business roadmap and be responsible for the commercial performance. This portfolio is perfect for someone who can work autonomously and is self-driven.

As Operation Buyer , you will be part of a dynamic and integrated European buyer team located in Göteborg and Lyon. We value team players with energy and creativity, who see opportunities where others see risks, who are willing to drive the change and strive for the best in order to deliver result.
Your main challenges in the coming 12 months are related to cost improvement, supplier base excellence and risk management.

You will report to the Operation Purchasing Manager CFF Europe.

Missions
The Operation Buyer continuously challenges and develops the suppliers to improve Cost, Quality and Delivery performance for parts in serial production. You will lead and develop continuous improvements at the suppliers to maximize the benefit for our customers.

•Manage a purchasing portfolio in a proactive mode
•Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers in order to secure the best cost, quality and delivery performance
•Develop improvement strategy to create the purchasing leverage
•Drive negotiations in order to implement extra cost savings on top of agreements
•Use Volvo Production System toolbox to drive the “lean approach” across the supply chain
•Drive supply chain optimization activities (SCO) in close cooperation with suppliers
•Ensure implementation of contracts and agreements with suppliers
•Manage risks and potential crisis
•Build and maintain a strong relationship with internal cross functional stakeholders

Qualification

•Business Acumen
•University degree in Business, Engineering or related field
•Initial experience in purchasing would be valuable
•Fluent in English, both written and spoken
•Positive attitude and target oriented approach
•Strong team player and willingness to share best practices and learn from others
•Multicultural experience is an asset
