Operator I- Galveston, TX

Job description

The Operator I operate(s) and maintain(s) sludge, de-watering
treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in
refinery/industrial facility to meet customer specifications under
direct supervision.

Primary Responsibilities & Job Duties

Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and
independently operate assigned machines and equipment
meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.

Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate
equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers,
conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control,
disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters,
measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material
handling equipment.

Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and
willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.

Demonstrate knowledge of all general safety rules and the
consequences of breaking these rules.

Demonstrate knowledge of all procedures related to the
equipment being operated.

Safely work on and around the job location.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  High School diploma or GED
·  Valid Driver's License and maintain throughout employment
·  One year of work experience
·  Work effectively in diverse team environments that are dynamic.

·  Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
·  Read and comprehend instructions/signs/directions in English.
·  Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
·  Proficient using PC, email and word processing software
·  Pass drug screens, physical and safety sensitive background check.
·  Ability to focus with attention to detail to complete tasks safely and correctly
·  Demonstrate ability to learn and then independently operate, maintain and repair equipment which may include pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses and measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
·  Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities are essential.
·  Some knowledge of basic chemistry is desirable
