We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in permanent capacity based at our depot in Cambridge, Tasmania. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this position focuses on the inspection, maintenance and repair of VES vehicles in a timely manner to ensure the operating needs of the business are met. The role ensures that all vehicles work to maximum efficiency in a safe, environmentally sound manner in line with regulatory and VES requirements.
The successful candidates responsibilities will include:
Check and prioritise daily instructions to complete scheduled maintenance
Prepare and take vehicles for RTA inspections as directed
Ensure that you requisition all parts required for repairs or servicing in a timely manner
Follow administrative procedures for completion of DVR's as instructed
Complete service forms, brake forms and other paperwork accurately in accordance with VES guidelines

You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
Relevant Trade certificate in heavy transport or equivalent
Current HR licence
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and systematics (desirable)
Knowledge of electrics / electronics (desirable)
Welding experience (desirable)
