JOB TITLE – Graduate Trainee (Contract Performance Coordinator)

LOCATION – Padworth IWMF, Reading (requiring some occasional off site travel, mainly in the Berkshire area)


SALARY - £27,000

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Graduate to join Veolia as a Contract Performance Coordinator as part of the Graduate Development Programme.

You will be supporting the management team of a major integrated waste and recycling contract in delivery of the PFI contract. You will gain valuable exposure to several disciplines such as Financial Planning and P&L responsibility, Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Management, Customer Service and Personnel Management. The breadth of the contract gives a diverse involvement in the environmental industry, with a primary focus on recycling centre and kerbside collections teams

A key component of the role will be to support the management team in day-to-day duties including; client liaison, financial modelling, data driven decision making, learning about upcoming legislation, wasteflow mapping, creation of data dashboards and supporting operational colleagues to ensure compliance to legal and contractual requirements. You will be attending client meetings, communicating directly to deal with client's requests around service queries, recycling developments and critically acting as liaison with the client communications team. You will feed into monthly and annual reporting of key contract indicators and actively support growth and changes in the service delivery plan.

You will be gaining valuable experience and exposure over the 2 year period with the aim to develop you into a future Business Manager.

About your Development

As part of the Graduate Development Programme, you will go through a structured management development programme, undertaking leadership and management modules with your graduate cohort. You will also receive further technical training specific to your role and be supported in this by our People Development team.

About your Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

· Degree level qualification in any discipline with a keen interest in business and the environment (2:1 minimum by September 2020)
· A commitment to / keen interest in environmental issues and improvement
· Problem solving mindset and ability to get stuck in
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Proactive and self-motivated
· Ability to work well within a team
· Understanding of health and safety
· Full, clean UK driving licence

You need to be eligible to work in the UK without restriction on beginning employment and be able to take up permanent employment with the company. You'll also need a full UK driving license on starting employment. During the recruitment process you'll be required to provide original documentation.
