Job description

Job Title: Unilever Future Leader’s Programme – United Kingdom & Ireland

Function: Supply Chain Management

Unilever is one of the largest fast-moving consumer goods companies in the world. We make some of the world’s most loved brands: Dove, Lynx, PG Tips, Ben & Jerrys, Marmite, Magnum, Persil and Hellmann’s, to name a few. Getting a delicious ice cream like Magnum into the hands of a consumer in the right condition at the right time and price takes serious business expertise. Supply Chain Management is responsible for the whole process, from sustainably sourcing the raw materials to ensuring a great product reaches the supermarket shelf in perfect quality and affordable cost. The breadth and depth of influence this function has makes it key to how we realise our vision to build a brighter future for our world.

What will I be doing?

You could be finding a new way to get ice cream across the desert in an energy-efficient way without it melting; transforming the way the world’s largest deodorants factory operates; or designing how to use big-data and the latest technology to optimise the flow of our products sustainably to our customers. There’s always a new challenge to tackle and we believe first-hand experience is the fastest way to learn. Our people have the opportunity to make a big impact every day on a local level, across Europe and the globe.

What do we look for?

Whichever area you work in – you’ll need to demonstrate strong analytical skills, be a proven team player, geographically mobile and have the ability to think both quickly and strategically in order to make the best decisions to influence our future supply chain. For Supply Chain, we require a strong technical qualification in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). We also accept other science based degrees (BSc) and Supply Chain related disciplines such as Supply Chain Management and Logistics.

What will the programme involve?

The three-year, world-class development programme is packed with variety and challenge, with the opportunity of promotion to manager level after 2 years. You’ll develop your individual leadership skills by working on live projects which offer you all the experience you need to become ready for your first management role. Over three years you’ll cover four to six placements to provide experience in key areas:

· The Planning team (either based at our Head Office, one of our 9 factories in UK, or one of our European Supply Chain Hubs in Switzerland, Poland or The Netherlands)
· A customer-facing role at Head Office working directly with our external retail customers in UK and Ireland
· A supervisory placement (leading a production team in one of our factories)

First-hand experience – it’s the fastest way to learn. The Unilever culture is varied, friendly and encourages innovative thinking. We will push and support you to achieve your potential, whilst giving you the chance to shape your career path according your own interests, strengths and ambitions.

Location :

Placements may be in different business units across the UK & Ireland, so you need to be flexible about where you are based during the programme.

Closing date:

We will close for applications as soon as we receive enough applications for the business area and without prior warning. We therefore advise you to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Diversity at Unilever is about inclusion, embracing differences, creating possibilities and growing together for better business performance. We embrace diversity in our workforce. This means giving full and fair consideration to all applicants and continuing development of all employees regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, and pregnancy and maternity.

Travel Required: 10-25%
