Job Title: Unilever Future Leader’s Programme – United Kingdom & Ireland

Function: Human Resources

Unilever is one of the largest fast-moving consumer goods companies in the world. We make some of the world’s most loved brands: Dove, Lynx, PG Tips, Ben & Jerrys, Marmite, Magnum, Persil and Hellmann’s, to name a few. We believe that being ambitious in business goes hand in hand with being ambitious for humanity and the environment. Business has a fundamental role to play in the future of the planet, and people are what drive our organisation, which is why HR is considered a core rather than a support function, and plays such an important role in shaping business strategy. Within HR you will help to create an environment where all of the people in our huge and varied culture can bring their range of skills and goals to best use: for a better future and for their own fulfilment.

What will I be doing?

Supporting the wellbeing and championing the success of the 155,000 people working for us worldwide. Unilever’s HR function is committed to contribute to the Sustainable Living Plan in as many ways as possible. Wherever you’re based in the business, you will gain experience of driving culture change, managing employee relations, developing talented individuals and leaders, turning around the performance of teams and much more. It’s all about shaping our organisation from within.

What do we look for?

We need HR people who are mindful and responsive to contexts, audiences and individuals and are inspired to develop colleagues and the capabilities required for our winning business. People skills are essential for the Unilever Futures Programme in HR, but there are no specific qualifications required. The role of HR in Unilever as a core strategic business area means we look for people with ambition, an interest in business and the courage to offer creative insights and execute change. Individuals who are able to build relationships and have a talent in influencing and negotiation go a long way.

Diversity at Unilever is about inclusion, embracing differences, creating possibilities and growing together for better business performance. We embrace diversity in our workforce. This means giving full and fair consideration to all applicants and continuing development of all employees regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, and pregnancy and maternity.

What will the programme involve?

The three-year, world-class development programme is packed with variety and challenge, with the opportunity of promotion to manager level after 3 years. You’ll develop your individual leadership skills by working on live projects which offer you all the experience you need to become ready for your first management role. Four placements, including time within:

· Head Office – global or regional
· A factory – various locations
· An HR expertise team (Reward, Learning & Development, Talent, Services and HR Ops)

First-hand experience – it’s the fastest way to learn. Your rotations could be based at different business units across Europe and you will need to be flexible about where you are based during your time on the scheme.

The Unilever culture is varied, friendly and encourages innovative thinking. We will push and support you to achieve your potential, whilst giving you the chance to shape your career path according to your own interests, strengths and ambitions.

Location :

Placements may be in different business units across the UK & Ireland, so you need to be flexible about where you are based during the programme.

Closing date:

We will close for applications as soon as we receive enough applications for the business area and without prior warning. We therefore advise you to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Travel Required: 10-25%
