Job description
Background & Purpose of the Job
The Technical Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, improvement, and repair of equipment to support the delivery of Plant KPIs-Safety, Quality, Output, & Cost .He/she will be responsible for mastering the operation of a series of functions (receiving, batching, pasteurizing )within the factory in order to achieve World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards. As Technical Operator he/she will follow the established WCM standards of production delivery in order to drive continuous improvement within a semi-autonomous environment
Who You Are & What You'll Do
Abide by all plant Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) policies and actively participate in safety activities
Consistently demonstrate safe work behaviors and actively support company safety goals
Reduce environmental impacts and costs associated with utilities, chemicals & product and operational wastes through maximizing eco-efficient operation
Monitor and evaluate the condition of equipment, machinery and components through the use of instrumentation and other diagnostic techniques
Work with Multi-Skilled Operators to eliminate sources negatively impacting (SQOC)
Understand the principles of mechanism and motion and be able to conduct troubleshooting, basic repairs, and adjustments (e.g. pumps, valves, sensors, etc)
Coordinate, schedule, and communicate within team to provide break, overtime, and vacation coverage to ensure team resources can meet operational requirements
Promote the development of a highly effective team by encouraging strong interpersonal skills, leading by example, and building rapport amongst team members. Manage team dynamics while focusing on Plant goals and targets
Conduct peer-to-peer evaluations to improve team effectiveness
Troubleshoot and address electrical equipment failures
Become a safety champion ensuring prevention of safety hazards such as CPR, First, incident investigation, risk assessment, safety observation, and Hazwoper
What You'll Need To Succeed
High school diploma or equivalent GED
• Varying temperatures – cold and hot
•Chemical use and handling
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
•Occasional pushing/pulling up to 80 pounds
•Must be available to work overtime, extended shifts and alternate schedules
•Required to wear company-furnished safety equipment and uniform
•Work in loud environments while utilizing proper safety equipment
•Working at heights above 4 feet
•Standing for extended periods of time
•Repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling
